Yale Ephesus Doorknob

Heavy cast iron decorative doorknob by Yale with a dark patina. Ephesus design. It features a bullseye center and radiating leaf motifs. Cir. 1905-1929. This particular knob is set up for a security pin. The security pin runs through the doorknob shaft to secure the knob. This method was often used of the outside of an external door to prevent people from stealing the doorknob. The doorknob shaft hole is slightly larger than standard, measuring about 3/8″ square.  The doorknob measures 2 1/2″ diam.
