Description

Wirt Co. Dim-A-Lite Socket

Introduced in 1908 by the Wirt Company (now CW Industries), the Dim-A-Lite socket was made as a way to save current. It was meant to fit into any standard socket and allow dimming or brightening of the light by pulling one side of the chain or the other. Pulling the dark colored bell would dim the light, the light colored bell would brighten. More interesting info can be found here: http://lampes-et-tubes.info/il/il182.php?l=e
