Sargent 3213 Rim Lock

Horizontal mount rim, or external mount lock made by Sargent. Cir. 1901. Stamped 3213 on inside which corresponds to catalogue number. Marked Sargent Made in USA on outside. Box measures 4 1/4″l x 3 1/2″h. Doorknob hole is offset from keyhole. Box has additional latch lock mechanism on the side.

Sargent Manufacturing was founded in 1857 in New Britain, Ct. by brothers Joseph, George and Edward Sargent. In 1864 they moved to New Haven, CT. They were a distributor for the Mallory Wheeler Company up until about 1882. Sargent Lock continues today under the ownership of Assa Abloy.
