Lockwood Franklin Door Plates Pair
A matched pair of door plates made by Lockwood in Franklin design. They are made of wrought steel and have a copper finish. One has much darker patina. Cir. 1914. The door plates measure 7″l x 2 1/2″w.

Lockwood
Lockwood Hardware Manufacturing Company began in 1878 under Henry Sanford Lockwood and Henry W. Lester. In 1889, Lockwood purchased the Nashua Lock Company. After suffering a bit of decline due to the Great Depression, the Independent Lock Company (ILCO) absorbed Lockwood. In 1934, an Australia branch began which continues to this day The company was later reincorporated under the original name. It continues today as Lockwood under the Assa Abloy Group.
