National Brass Co. Winding Key

Hexagonal winding key made by National Brass Co. The key has a unique hexagonal, almost star patterned hollow. The inside measures approximately 5mm diameter. The outside of the shaft measures7mm diameter. The hollow is approximately 8mm deep. The full key measures 2 1/4″l x 1″w. It is marked National Brass Co. on the top of one side.

National Brass Co. was founded in 1909 and made door and cabinet hardware.  It ran under the National Brass name until 1955, when it was re-named Dexter. Dexter Lock was sold to Master Lock in 1985 and eventually disbanded in 1991.
