Description
Heavy cast iron doorknob set by Yale & Towne. Salem design. Cir. 1887-1897. Some pitting from rust. Doorknobs measure 2 1/4″diam.
Unique security design with one doorknob fixed with a pin. The other doorknob is loosened by twisting the brass nut which holds the base. This second doorknob is fully adjustable up to the fixed brass “washer” in the middle of the shaft. Distance between base of doorknobs can range from 2 1/2″-4 1/4″
