Reading Concord Door Plate (Face Plate 47)
Small door face plate. “Concord” by Reading, cir. 1899. This plate is made of wrought steel with a bronze finish. The door plate measures 5 1/2″h x 1 5/8″w. These smaller plates were often for use on bathroom or pantry doors.

Reading Hardware began in 1872 in Reading, Pennsylvania. It produced both basic and highly decorative builders hardware. Reading’s hardware was used in many notable buildings including the White House in Washington, D.C. The operation closed in 1950.
